Lyrics
It’s the pipes and drums with their rattle and hum
It’s the young lads and lassies up dancing
The roars and cheers surrounding the field
As the women and men take their chances
Tossing the cabers and hammers up high
While every thread of the kilt keeps on swinging
In the sun or the mud, feel your ancestors’ blood stirring
Fergus, Fergus, a place in your heart called home
Fergus, Fergus, something that’s born in the bone
It’s the reason we’re here and come back every year
For the tartan kiss of Fergus
It’s John Allan Cameron’s Lord Of The Dance
It’s the fiddlers reeling & jigging
The plaid, the parade, the memories made
Side by side when we’re singing
Go Lassie Go & Yon Bonnie Banks
And we’ll all be in Scotland afore ye
It’s a gatherin’ o’ clans all under one flag in Fergus
Fergus, Fergus, a place in your heart called home
Fergus, Fergus, something that’s born in the bone
It’s the reason we’re here and come back every year
For the tartan kiss of Fergus
So let’s raise a glass high to a big-hearted town,
With the best volunteers on the planet
And to the families before us, all part of the story of Fergus
Fergus, Fergus, a place in your heart called home
Fergus, Fergus, something that’s born in the bone
Fergus, Fergus, a place in your heart called home
Fergus, Fergus, something that’s born in the bone
It’s the reason we’re here and come back every year
For the tartan kiss, the tartan kiss of Fergus
Filming at the Brew House on the Grand
We filmed the live performance of Tartan Kiss at the Brew House on the Grand along the Grand River in Fergus. We were joined by a small audience of festival board members, friends and volunteers.
It was a great shoot and we were thrilled to work with David Leask and be part of this incredible music video or the Fergus Scottish Festival.
